Princeville Vacation Rentals During The Holiday Season in Kauai

The holiday season in Kauai is brimming with fun community celebrations, festivals and events.  Whether you are visiting the island with family, on an independent adventure or touring with friends, you will easily find brilliant settings, welcoming people, delicious food and memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.  Learn about Hawaiian culture, including the multi-cultural heritage of Kauai, and celebrate new and familiar holidays in picturesque splendor. The holidays are the perfect setting for a memorable vacation, and we can help you find a variety of Princeville vacation rentals.

Start off December at the 10th Annual Christmas in the Garden Craft Fair, on December 1st, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  Enjoy this free event with family and friends, while finding the perfect holiday gifts for loved ones.  Located at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens Southshore Visitor Center, in Poipu, you will be surrounded by a natural kaleidoscope, soaking in the ocean air, right across from Spouting Horn.  The National Tropical Botanical Gardens Southshore Visitor Center will also be hosting the Women Artists of Kauai 5th Annual Winter Fine Art Festival on December 15th, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.  You can help support the garden, as well as the local artists, with part of the proceeds going to the Botanical Garden.  Discover original artworks, from paintings and photography to sculpture, pottery and mixed media, to decorate your own home, or as the ideal holiday gift.

Delight in the brilliant display of the Lights on Rice Parade, on December 6th, in Lihue.  The parade will begin at 6 PM, at the Vidinha Stadium, traveling up Rice Street and ending at the Historic County Building.  Join in the excitement of the community, while they decorate themselves and their vehicles with lights, to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.  Before the parade, be sure to check out the all-day craft fair that will be hosted by the Kauai Museum.  After the parade, Lights on Rice will continue at the Historic County Building, with a performance by the Kauai Chorale at the Kauai County Courthouse.  The Kauai Chorale is currently celebrating its 50th season of performing around the Garden Isle.  Throughout the month of December, keep your eyes open for “elves” from the Chorale, who will be performing in various locations around the island.

Another wonderful chance to view holiday lights will arrive on December 21, for the 19th Annual Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade.  The parade will begin at Waimea Canyon Park and end in the center of town, at Hofgaard Park, where you can enjoy after-parade fun, including live music and free beverages, baked goods and other treats which will be provided by West Kauai Business & Professional Association member businesses.  If you are busy elsewhere on December 21st, but you want to see the dazzling display of lights in Waimea, the most decorated town on Kauai, take a walk down Main Street and Waimea Canyon Drive from dark until 9 PM, December 1st through 24th.

On December 9th, visit the Kauai Museum in Lihue for the Christmas Wreath Display.  The exhibit is a lovely show of holiday cheer to bring together the whole family.  Later in the month, when Christmas celebrations are through, head back to The Kauai Museum to ring in the Chinese New Year.  Join the museum on December 27th to create Narcissus Bulbs, welcoming the new Chinese year.

The above festivals and events are only a few of the numerous holiday celebrations that will illuminate the alluring island of Kauai, throughout the month of December.  Celebrate the holiday season with your loved ones and make new friends at one, or many, of Kauai’s warm community gatherings.  Don’t fret if you can’t fit all of the holiday excitement which our island has to offer into one trip.  Once you’ve spent a holiday season on our stunning island, you will be planning your next Kauai vacation…and you can easily book Princeville vacation rentals from our site today!
